OOM: Bart and Umbeka!
"Sorry, buddy, looks like I won't be needing that coat after all."

Jenny flashes the bewildered man behind the counter a bright grin as she finally walks into the outer clothing store in Umbeka's spaceport. It only took a little more than a week, but if you ask her, it's totally been worth it.

Just look at the really cute guy she's dragging in behind her!

"Going to try a different form of fun instead," she continues. "Those hot springs that sign outside was bragging about! Where are they?"

He points in some vague direction that's good enough for Jenny. Still holding tightly on to Bart's hand, she walks back out the door and in to the busy space station.

Welcome to another planet, Bart!

Grin.

"That's what you say now."

He is so going to be the one swimming circles around her.

At least, once they get past that interesting and slightly daunting security door that presumably leads to the pools.

At the sight of the security door and guards, Jenny only smiles. She lets go of Bart's hand and walks forward, possibly putting a bit of a swing in her hips as she does.

"Hiya boys. Do we have to pay to get in?"

The two guards, both humanoid by the look of it, exchange a glance. The taller of the two shakes his head. "Place your hand on the scanner, ma'am. Simple routine security check. There's been trouble with a few escaped convicts recently and we don't want a pretty little thing like you getting hurt."

Bart?

Goes >.<

While, technically, that's very helpful, she could at least... warn him or something.

Thus, when it's his turn?

>.

Jenny laughs flirtatiously, turning her smile to the guard that had spoken. "Oh, I think I can handle myself. But thanks for the tip."

She presses her hand on the scanner, not at all surprised when it registers her as a non-human. It makes her proud, being Gallifrian.

On the other side, she turns and beams at Bart. "You coming?"
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on July 22nd, 2008 11:37 pm (UTC)
"Yeah, I'm coming."

>.<

Bart, likewise, presses his hand to the scanner. It bleeps, and scans again, grudgingly registering him as human.

Bart, however, is busy thinking that he might want to talk to Jenny about her tactics. Soon. And doesn't really notice so much at first that the door closes for a second after Jenny goes through, and when it opens again for him there is no Jenny in sight.

This would be worrying, were it not for the badly-drawn picture of a male figure helpfully denoting the mens'... whatever.

Unlike Bart, Jenny is completely and utterly confident about everything right now. She's in her territory. Aka, the unknown.

She smiles at the various beings down in the locker room and shamelessly changes without looking for a loo or shower to do so in. Her clothing and gear gets stuffed inside an empty container that's sealed with a bio-lock, so no other being can get to it.

Quite pleased with herself, she heads upstairs. The hot springs are vast, enclosed from the blizzard outside by a large dome. Now it's just a matter of waiting for or finding Bart.
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on July 22nd, 2008 11:53 pm (UTC)
Bart's already waiting for her; despite taking more time relatively, he made up for time in transit with superspeed.

Especially since the bio-locked containers took a while to figure out. Weird stuff. Cool stuff, but still weird.

It still takes him a second to spot her, but when he does, it only takes a second to be at her side. (It would have been a half second, but... well, he had to stop and admire the view.)

"You ready to back up that mouth of yours, Gorgeous?"

There is possibly a little bit of... extra in that word. Because she is.
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on July 23rd, 2008 12:11 am (UTC)
He's not the only one with a view to admire. Bathing shorts only cover a certain amount. And the rest?

He have a very nice chest. That scar on rising off his shoulder only seems to add to his charm. Jenny bites her lip, feeling the heat rise in her face and something else stirring inside of her.

It's time to see if those games of Will's are fun are not.

"So ready." Jenny points to a small little crater somewhere in the distance. "That one?"
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on July 23rd, 2008 12:21 am (UTC)
She doesn't mind being picked up and superspeeded over to the crater and over the water for a CANNONBALLLLLLL of epic proportions!

And by epic, the narration means 'well, pretty epic. At least, really fun and that's the point, innit?'

All the while keeping an eye on her just in case she does have a little difficulty applying knowledge to water.
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on July 23rd, 2008 12:24 am (UTC)
At first Jenny squeals, wrapping her arms around his neck tightly and laughing as they race over pools and ground to the one she had pointed out. There really isn't much time to think before-

SPLAAAAAAAAAAASH!

And she's sinking downward. Innate knowledge flashes in front of her eyes and, seconds later, Jenny is kicking and swimming like a pro. The water is warm and silky, a stark contrast to the blizzard outside.

She laughs again after breaking the surface, treading water while she looks for him. "Bart? Speedy, where are you?"
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on July 23rd, 2008 12:30 am (UTC)
He's NOT THERE he must be DROWNING!

Or, possibly, sneaking up behind her, Jaws-esque.

DUH-DUH DUH-DUH DU-DUH DUH-DUH

Liken unto a sea monster of olde, Bart rises from the Deep and tackles her slightly.

"Right here."

:D!

[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on July 23rd, 2008 12:34 am (UTC)
There is more squealing from Jenny. Some patrons in a nearby pool turn to look, but smartly, she had picked one devoid of other life. Her legs and arms flail as she laughs, trying to turn to see him.

This has to be a part of those games Will was talking about. Splashing and tickling and chasing. And they are fun.

"Baaaart," she cries, gulping in water as she laughs. "You cheat!"
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on July 23rd, 2008 12:38 am (UTC)
D:!

"I do not!"

But she's totally not going to get to see him, because he is SNEAKY and always manages to be where she isn't looking.

"I'm just evening the odds a little, what with your pre-programmed swimming knowledge."

:D?
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on July 23rd, 2008 12:43 am (UTC)
>.>

She regains control of her treading, constantly moving her head to try to find him. How is she supposed to tickle and tackle him in return if he won't sit still?

"You doooooo," she whines before laughing again.

But rather than complaining further, she begins to splash in any and every direction. Maybe one of them will get him.
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on July 23rd, 2008 12:48 am (UTC)
"I'm not cheating!" he asserts indignantly, gettingly only a mouthful of water for his troubles.

:O!

NOW SHE'S ASKING FOR IT.
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on July 23rd, 2008 12:50 am (UTC)
:D!!!!

Jenny laughs again, turning to float on her back. She starts to kick away from Bart, delivering a backstroke worthy of an Olympian athlete.

"Try and catch me, Speedy!"
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on July 23rd, 2008 12:52 am (UTC)
SHE TOTALLY ASKED FOR IT.

Fortunately for Jenny, Bart isn't really as fast in the water as he is above it. But? That doesn't mean his superspeed counts for nothing just because he's swimming.

It takes him a short while to catch up, but then he keeps pace easily. :P, Jenny!
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on July 23rd, 2008 12:57 am (UTC)
She beams when she turns her head and sees Bart beside her. Jenny comes to a quick stop, intercepting him with a tackle of her own. In her case, it involves wrapping her arms around his neck and wrapping her legs around his waist.

Oh. Skin. Huh.

Her attack falters mid-giggle.
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on July 23rd, 2008 01:02 am (UTC)
The narration will hold off on any sparks of electricity jokes or whatever, even though water is conductive, and even though it's really appropriate given at least one half of this couple.

Regardless.

He compensates quickly to avoid falling head over heels backwards (ahem), which clearly means Jenny should get a kiss.

Logic? What does logic have to do with it?
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on July 23rd, 2008 01:05 am (UTC)
There is no logic because, unlike the other half of the narration, this half isn't afraid of making electricity jokes. Because Jenny feels like she's been electrified right now and would, in all, be rather surprise it hasn't left a mark on her like it has on Bart.

She kisses him back, legs lowering from around his waist to thread with his in the water instead. This time, she attempts to deepen the kiss.

This would be one of those perfect moments.

Except.

Except the room's just gone dark, and an alarm's gone off, and a host of Judoon have just entered through any doors available, bearing weapons and explaining, quite simply and plainly, that there is No Need To Worry, but All Humanoids must Come Quietly By Choice Or By Force.

Bart tightens his grip on Jenny and starts searching for possible exits.
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on July 23rd, 2008 01:17 am (UTC)
It is unfortunate how all perfect moments come to an end. And how tense they both become not for reasons of previous activity but because of the situation they've now found themselves in.

Like Bart, Jenny too has begun looking for exists. She doesn't recognise the aliens, but she does recognise their manner. Military or police or something of that sort. Whatever is going on, it isn't good.

"Do you see one?" she whispers, eyes darting around. "Has to be some way out."
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on July 23rd, 2008 01:33 am (UTC)
It only has to be unguarded for a second. Just a second.

"Hold on," he says as he scoops her into his arms, pushing with everything he has to get them out of the water and to the door in time. It would work perfectly, except...

Except the Judoon are, let's say, affecting a few 'terrain changes' to mark off the area of quarantine, and his foot catches on a bit of uneven ground, stretching the ligaments way farther than they're meant to go.

Bart lands on hands and knees, the impact only slightly distracting from the ARGH ANKLE PAIN and the Judoon that have quickly begun to surround him.
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on July 23rd, 2008 01:39 am (UTC)
If Bart was any other individual, Jenny would insist on rescuing herself. But he's, well, he's Bart and there aren't any arguments at all. She just holds on tightly until she finds herself flying. Jenny tucks her legs in and lands on the floor nearby, tumbling into a stand.

Her eyes open wide when she sees the Judoon surrounding Bart. Immediately, all of her father's hard taught lessons disappear and she starts to look around for a weapon she can use.

They can't take Bart.
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on July 23rd, 2008 01:44 am (UTC)
If he understood what was being said, he would hear: "You will be catalogued.

And "Category: unidentified."

And "You will be taken to a holding cell and catalogued."

Before he has a chance to get over the shock of his ankle, someone's got a needle in his neck (primary-type sedative, calculated for approximate body weight and presumed species, plus a little bit to be on the safe side) and then it doesn't matter what anybody's saying.
