"Oh yes," she agrees with a smile.

Across the concourse, there's a pair of men watching them. Cavilo takes that in with a glance out of the corner of her eye, and starts casually drifting toward the next stall.

Jenny follows, excitement building she sees the next stall filled with all sorts of strange (but clearly intriguing) clothing. Instinct fails her and absolutely no attention is paid to the men watching.

"Oh, look at this, Lara!" Jenny exclaims, holding up a colour changing dress.

"Oh very nice," she purrs, running an appreciative finger down the fabric. A trail of color follows her touch, rippling outward.

Turning to address the proprietor, she lets her gaze flick across the two men; yes, they're still watching. "Is this fabric heat-sensitive?"

"Touch-sensitive," the proprietor corrects. "It'll react to air currents -- even sound waves if they're loud enough."

"Fascinating," she marvels.

Jenny holds the dress up against her body and tilts her head at Cavilo. "What do you think? Think Jay'll like it?"

She has the money from Inari. It could be worth the purchase.

She smiles, a touch wickedly. "I think he might. Especially the touch-sensitive part."

Jenny blushes at that, grinning back with her own wicked smile. "Yeah."

She pulls out a wad of cash from her pocket and hands it over to the gentleman at the stall. It's at this point that the two men watching them catch her eye. Jenny frowns slightly and elbows Cavilo. Quietly, "Have they been watching us long?"

Still smiling, and in an undertone: "A while now. Don't look at them."

She bends her head to stroke a velvety scarf laid out on the same table.

Jenny frowns. "Why not? They're looking at us."

And if they're going to do anything, she wants to be prepared. Only so much can be ascertained in a glance.

"Smile," Cavilo hisses, through her own smile. "The longer they think we haven't seen them, the longer we have an advantage."

She smiles, but her blue eyes still shine with confusion. "Why are they following us anyway? We haven't done anything!"

She raises her hand to finger a lacy wrap draped from the stall's awning. "I can think of half a dozen possible reasons," she murmurs, "starting with the fact that we're two pretty women traveling alone and neither of us looks dangerous."

Jenny scowls again, unable to stop herself. "That's ridiculous!"

"Why?" Perfectly calmly.

"Because we're not."

And that, clearly, makes all the sense in the world.

"...we're not what?"

Cavilo's wondering if she may have to slow to Jenny's speed, here.

"We're not helpless and there's no reason any man should think that about a female," Jenny continues, breaking Cavilo's suggestion and shooting a glare at the men.

They take a step backwards, but their intent still seems clear.

"Not in this century."

Hmmm. Time to see how Jenny will react to a slightly firmer hand.

"I said," and her voice is for Jenny's ears only, but very hard, "don't look."

It isn't quite the positive reaction Cavilo might hope for. Instead of glowering at the men, Jenny turns to scowl at her friend.

"Why not?" she protests. "We could take them."

"Probably -- but they won't believe that."

Her smile's sharp-edged.

"Unless we show them."

"Do we want to?" Jenny inquires, looking a tad unsure. She likes a fight, oh how she enjoys a good fight, but she's come to learn enough to know that there's a time and a place.

She isn't so certain this situation and time count as either.

"Spacestations like this don't make for good battle terrain."

"No, but they wouldn't attack us out in the open, would they? Not if this station's got any kind of security force."

Very calm, verging on serene: "Let's just wait and see what they do. Who knows? Maybe they're just waiting for the chance to ask us out for drinks."

"But I have a boyfriend," Jenny grumbles, looking a little frustrated. She titled her head again as she studied the men. "Maybe we can ask them what they want? Make things clear? That we're not interested."

"That might not be a bad idea," she muses. "But let's not make a big public scene of ourselves, mm?"

She couldn't help the adventurous smile that crossed her face.

"Right!"

But something inside of Jenny nagged at her, claiming that this wouldn't be the case. Not this time. Not given the way those men kept staring at them, arms crossed over chest and trying to look as intimidating as possible.

"So let's just go on with our shopping a bit longer. Until we find somewhere relatively private to talk to them. I've got them pegged now. They'll follow us."

And won't this be fun.
