In which open-ended favours and threats of no sex result in picnics with her two favourite boys.
She had it all planned. Today was the day that Bart and Edward would finally meet. She had been so excited that Jenny was completely incapable of sleeping at all that night (hence disappearing out of Bart's room shortly after he had fallen asleep to work on final preparations).

But it was all ready now. A weather forecast for Milliways (provided by Bar) had helped her pick today. It was cloudy and overcast and generally gross out there, but perfect conditions to keep Edward from the sunlight and Jay dry. She had a blanket spread out by the pond Teja had told her about (more shade, just in case something went wrong with the weather).

And she had a picnic basket with enough food to feed a small army. Or one speedster.

Now she only needed her guests to arrive. As Jenny waited, she paced furiously. Someone was impatient today.

Edward (un)helpfully hasn't moved.

He could be a stone statue engrossed with the blanket.

Getting the mental and verbal play by play stopped being soap opera amusing decades ago. At least it was a positive for both of them. He supposed Jenny would consider this entire encounter a success from this alone.

Edward was probably more than correct. Someone saying they were in love with you wasn't something that happened to Jenny every day. Especially if it was Bart.

While Bart's broadcast of being not alone was received, it was also very much ignored. Jenny leaned against his arm, giggling to herself as she replied his words in his head.

Love.

It was a rather nice word.

Cough.

Someone doesn't really know what to do now.

Jenny projecting wasn't enough to startle him, but it did make his gaze flicker.

He can't have done something bad enough to deserve this.

Grand scheme of things, sure. Vampire. Rebellion years blood on his hands.

BUT he didn't eat the Swan girl. Many times now.

She sighed happily again, glancing up at Bart before looking at Edward. Yeah. Not alone.

Jenny should do something about that. Unconsciously, she placed a shield around her mind. She winced at the headache that resulted and leaned further against Bart.

Edward was offered a small smile, semi-awkward smile. "Sorry."

Bart.... has no idea what just happened there.

But okay.

Bart didn't miss much since he was the focus.

Edward's smiled curved in both an amused and teasing fashion, as he shrugged gracefully. "Who am I to stand in the way of such poignant admissions?"

She laughed, sticking her tongue out at Edward.

"My guest."

Which was true, she thought. Edward was as much her guest on this picnic as Bart was and she was ignoring him. Jenny was being an absolutely horrible hostess and now that headache wouldn't go away.

"And... I think I was ignoring you." She blushed. "Sorry?"

Maybe the conversation will turn to less awkward conversation if he keeps quiet?

That's his apparent theory, at any rate.

"It was nothing."

Edward glanced back to Bart.

"You'll have to convince her to do a duck call for me one day."

Her brow wrinkled as she looks back at Bart as well.

"What?"
