Jenny shrugged as she sat, not exactly believing in coincidences. The decent timing was clearly because of her, because she was a Time Lady. It was a silly thought, she knew, but it was still one she liked.
The lights dimmed a few seconds later and the audience suddenly hushed. The glow that filled the room shortly after wasn't artificial, but radiating from the woman who floated down from the top of the tent. She was as every bit as beautiful as Jenny expected. Her tentacles spread out like wings and her internal organs lit up, bathed in the bio-luminescence.
The Star Poet smiled, a smile that illuminated the room as much as anything else, bathing the audience in peace. She touched a pendant that rested on her chest and her voice began to fill the minds of those around. She spoke of the nature of the universe in poetic harmonized tones: of life and death and those lonely gods that wander, of peace and violence, of kinship and loneliness, trust and fear, and the very majesty of existence in all forms.
Jenny stared in awe as she spoke in her silent manner, feeling surprisingly at ease. Some members in the audience shifted uncomfortably: be it at the telepathic communication or the meaning of the words.
