She had set the stolen vortex manipulator to the time and place Jeremy had informed her of the day before. Seeing that as last time she had offered the boy a trip through space, he had backed out, Jenny figured the easiest way to meet him would be to pick him up herself.

And there would be pizza. Pizza she hadn't tried yet, which was always exciting.

Seconds after leaving her ship, Jenny appeared in the designated spot. It was sunny and pretty, much like most Earth days she had witnessed thus far.

"Jeremy?" she called out. "Jeremy, you there?"

He almost drops the pizza, more than just shocked this time! Probably from the trip and what she said.

"...you're not supposed to be using that?"
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on June 16th, 2009 01:03 am (UTC)
Jenny gives him a look. "So?"
[identity profile] thenext-step.livejournal.com on June 16th, 2009 01:12 am (UTC)
"...sorry. Just asking." He peeks inside the pizza box, stalling ...

And then looking around. "Which one's yours?"
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on June 16th, 2009 04:05 pm (UTC)
Jenny smiles and shrugs before reaching for his hand again. "It's this way. We need to go to the docking bay. Right now, we're in the 'port proper."
[identity profile] thenext-step.livejournal.com on June 16th, 2009 04:26 pm (UTC)
He blinks, and is somehow holding her hand again! And a pizza box in the other hand. How did this happen???

"Okay... then let's go."
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on June 16th, 2009 07:14 pm (UTC)
She laughs, tugging on his hand and leading him down the corridor. As they walk, Jenny points out particular sights of interest.

"I've been to better spaceports," she explains, "but this one was convenient to stop at so I could pick you up. Any idea where you want to go?"
[identity profile] thenext-step.livejournal.com on June 16th, 2009 07:19 pm (UTC)
He keeps up easily! And isn't nervous at all now. Space! Spaceships! Maybe even some weird looking aliens! :D

"It looks amazing."

Eek. "Um... no. I don't know anything about aliens..."
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on June 16th, 2009 07:25 pm (UTC)
"Are you supposed to?"

Jenny blinks in confusion, looking at him for an answer. It's not as if she's a walking encyclopedia on other species herself.

"Uh... you asked. Sort of."
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on June 17th, 2009 03:00 pm (UTC)
"Well, I don't think so," Jenny decided resolutely. "It's fun figuring out things as you go along."
[identity profile] thenext-step.livejournal.com on June 17th, 2009 03:10 pm (UTC)
"Kinda, yeah." Thinking~. "Are there aliens on Mars?"
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on June 17th, 2009 03:20 pm (UTC)
"I haven't been to Mars yet," she muses, shrugging slightly. "It's near Earth, right?"
[identity profile] thenext-step.livejournal.com on June 17th, 2009 05:35 pm (UTC)
"It's... you know, the fourth planet... and it always has aliens on it in stories."
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on June 18th, 2009 06:47 pm (UTC)
As they pass into the docking bay, Jenny glances at her companion again. "What kind of stories?"
[identity profile] thenext-step.livejournal.com on June 18th, 2009 09:05 pm (UTC)
"Books I've read..." He's distracted by all the shiny spacestuff, and sounds like it.
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on June 19th, 2009 10:53 pm (UTC)
It's something she picks up on quickly. Jenny grins, amused. "Brilliant, isn't it?"
[identity profile] thenext-step.livejournal.com on June 19th, 2009 11:45 pm (UTC)
"It's amazing. I love it ..." And he means it. He so means it.
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on July 3rd, 2009 08:36 pm (UTC)
"Wait'll you see another planet," she tells him excitedly, finally stopping in front of a small shuttle. "Each one's different. And each one's as brilliant as the last!"
[identity profile] thenext-step.livejournal.com on July 3rd, 2009 09:05 pm (UTC)
"What's it like on this planet? Outside?" Deathgrip on the poor pizza. He's not going to go in alone.
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on July 4th, 2009 03:09 am (UTC)
"Cold. Really cold," she answers, punching in a series of numbers on a panel next to the door. A stairwell comes down and she hops on to the third step. "We can fly over it. There are really pretty mountains."
[identity profile] thenext-step.livejournal.com on July 4th, 2009 03:31 am (UTC)
He follows, stepping up oh so carefully. "Colder than Alaska? I'd like to see it if this works..."
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on July 4th, 2009 04:02 am (UTC)
"I still don't understand why it wouldn't," she muses as she steps inside her ship. Jenny leans against the doorway, watching Jeremy walk up the steps. "It'll be fun. I promised you that, didn't I?"
[identity profile] thenext-step.livejournal.com on July 4th, 2009 12:17 pm (UTC)
"I think it's going to..." Now to look for a decent spot to set the squashed pizza down ~

"It's already been fun, actually." :D
