Bart and Jenny's room, Milliways
When Bart's birthday first came around, Jenny didn't understand the significance of the day. Months later, she finally understood. The only problem was that his birthday fell on a day that only came around every four years on the Earth calendar. Absolutely stupid if you asked her, but there wasn't much she could do about it.

Except gently nudge Bart awake at 11:57 pm on February 28, quietly as to not wake Slowpoke in her crate. She had a gift, had a whole birthday planned. While he had slept, Jenny had decorated the room to something out of a Good Parenting magazine. She had obtained cake and champagne from Bar, now sitting on the desk in the room. A couple of wrapped gifts sat on the table next to them.

"Bart?" Jenny whispered, nudging again. "Bart?"

"...mmmwha?" sez a Bart.

He opens his eyes.

And blinks.

Did they move rooms in the middle of the night?

"Happy birthday," she whispered, rolling on to her side to place a light kiss on his cheek. "I remembered this time."

Bliiiiiiink.

"But it's not- oh."

He might've forgotten.

Jenny shrugged. It wasn't quite, but:

"Sort of?"
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on March 2nd, 2009 01:43 am (UTC)
Grin.

"So what'd you... do?"

Room still bewilders him slighlty.
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on March 2nd, 2009 02:05 am (UTC)
Jenny rolled out of the bed, tugging on the short skirt of her pink teddy. She walked over towards the light switch to allow more illumination in the room aside from that provided by the bedside lamp.

"This is what a birthday's supposed to look like, right?"
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on March 2nd, 2009 02:13 am (UTC)
O-O

"Yeah.

"I think it is."
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on March 2nd, 2009 02:46 am (UTC)
"Good," Jenny declared, grabbing her dressing gown from the floor. The belt of the pink robe fell lower than the hem line itself and the satin felt nice against her skin.

She walked over to the crate to peer at the still sleeping puppy and then turned to smile brightly at Bart. "Happy birthday, Bart Allen."

Slightly stunned speedster is alliterative.

"-Thanks."

Um.

"You didn't have to do this."
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on March 2nd, 2009 03:10 am (UTC)
Jenny tilted her head, considering him. "Why not?"
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on March 2nd, 2009 03:13 am (UTC)
"I didn't-"

"It's just-"

Yeah.
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on March 2nd, 2009 03:20 am (UTC)
Blink, blink, blink.

"What? It's just what?"

Picking up the presents, she walked back to the bed and sat down next to him. "You like it, don't you?"
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on March 2nd, 2009 03:32 am (UTC)
"I do!

"It's just- I'm not turning anything. I don't even have a birthday this year."
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on March 2nd, 2009 03:45 am (UTC)
"You do, technically," Jenny protested. "In between the minutes between February 28th and March 1st. The Earth calendar's weird, but I think this works. And coutns."
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on March 2nd, 2009 03:50 am (UTC)

"I guess."

Bart is unsure of the logistics of this argument. >>
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on March 2nd, 2009 03:56 am (UTC)
Jenny knew that tone. Without hesitation, she pushed the present into his lap.

"Just accept it. Please?"
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on March 2nd, 2009 03:59 am (UTC)

"Okay."
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on March 2nd, 2009 04:12 am (UTC)
"Okay," Jenny answered, much more enthusiastically.

"Gift or cake first?"
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on March 2nd, 2009 04:14 am (UTC)
"Um. Gift."
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on March 2nd, 2009 04:17 am (UTC)
Jenny giggled at that and leaned closer to kiss him quickly but deeply. That part of the gift done, she placed the bright yellow package in his lap.

"I hope you like it."
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on March 2nd, 2009 07:29 pm (UTC)
Grin.

HE LIKES THIS GIFT ALREADY.

And lo, there is curious opening. WHATEVER COULD BE INSIDE~?
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on March 3rd, 2009 08:16 pm (UTC)
Unsurprisingly, there is more where that gift came from. Inside the box, however, is a sketch artist's dream:

Polychrome pencils, and oil based pencils, and graphtint pencils. There's another sketchpad and some strange little device resembling a modern day tablet (the only difference being this allows one to sketch in 3D). Hidden beneath all of that is a framed photograph of the two of them.

She's not sure if it's the best gift she could come up with, but it's one she thought he'd like.

JENNY GLOMP!
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on March 5th, 2009 02:09 am (UTC)
"You like it?" Jenny asks hopefully.
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on March 5th, 2009 02:13 am (UTC)
"Yes!"

:D :D :D!
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on March 5th, 2009 02:14 am (UTC)
Smug beam.

"Thought you might."
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on March 5th, 2009 02:17 am (UTC)
Jenny snog = appropriate response, y/y?
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on March 5th, 2009 02:20 am (UTC)
Definitely. She even responds eagerly, digging hand in hair and deepening the kiss quickly.
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on March 5th, 2009 03:38 pm (UTC)
:D!

Jennys are the BEST THING EVER, clearly.

Bunnies.)

So are Barts, even if Barts don't believe such. Which is why she pulls away enough to smile at him (while her hearts beat out a samba).

"Know we did this once tonight but," Jenny pauses to glance at the cake at shrug. "We could have sex again. Anything you want to do - cause it's your birthday. Or we could light the candles on the cake now instead. What do you want, Bart?"
[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com on March 5th, 2009 08:53 pm (UTC)
Cake or Jenny.

Jenny or Cake.

I BELIEVE WE HAVE A WINNER.

You can tell which one he picked cause of the icon.
[identity profile] bitunlikely.livejournal.com on March 5th, 2009 09:00 pm (UTC)
If the choice had been between cake and anything else, Jenny might have worried about Bart not wanting to eat. Clearly, the fact that he's kissing her and letting her tug at his boxer shorts means that the worry factor of this decision is negligible.

"Any way you want it," she whispers, voice husky as she presses her lips back to his.
