Molly's ninth birthday party (Mohinder's loft, NYC)
She had arrived in New York City a couple of days early to buy the supplies various people had recommended to set up the birthday party. It had been hard not to get distracted by all the people and buildings (it was almost as fascinating as New New York), but thankfully, Mohinder had been willing to help - even offer his loft as the place to hold the party.

Halloween eve arrived quickly enough. Jenny stood in the center of the room, dressed as Supergirl to match Molly's idea of Batgirl. Although she still didn't understand the whole comic book idea, the man in the store had assured her it would be fitting. She surveyed her work and beamed.

The loft was decorated with fake spiderwebs and ghouls and cute little black bats and spiders. In some corners were gravestones with buckets of candy on top of the small mounds. A CD of Halloween tunes played, alternating with groans and creaks and cackles. A witch and a broom hung from the ceiling right near a large banner that exclaimed "HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOLLY!"

It looked good. The cake, in the middle of a table filled with all sorts of junk food and non-alcoholic drinks, also read Happy Birthday Molly, and stood on a platter as the centerpiece. A nearby table was set up for gifts; Jenny had hers placed in one corner - a pocket watch styled three-dimensional map of the known universe.

Everything was ready to go.

Mohinder is early to the party. At Jenny's request, he had kept himself away from his loft for most of the day (having spent most of yesterday hiding away anything important and/or valuable), but curiosity and a slight distrust of other people taking over his space meant that he did show up long before the allotted time.

Jenny had done an amazing job, he had to give her that. The place was near unrecognisable.

He wondered whether he could be of any help.

Much like with Matt, Molly could spot Mohinder anywhere, with-or-without her clairvoyance. Her blue eyes sparkled--even if they were covered by her Batgirl cowl--and she rushed over to her adoptive Dad, her grin taking up her whole face.

"Don't you like it, Mohinder?" She asked while her smile only grew wider. "I think it looks really, really cool!"

Mohinder laughed, bending down and heaving his not-so-little-anymore girl into his arms.

"Your friend has done an amazing job, Molly. Happy birthday. And your costume is fantastic."

Molly hugged him back just as tightly, never wanting to let go. However, if she was going to participate in the party Jenny set out to make for her, she'd have to.

Pulling back some with a permanent smile etched on her face, Molly beamed at his compliment, "Thank you! Did you see Jenny's? She's Supergirl. Batgirl and Supergirl work together to defeat the bad guys like The Joker and stuff."

Mohinder set Molly back on her feet, so as to better admire her costume.

"I saw Jenny's, yes. You both look fantastic." He gave her a proud and honest smile.

"Thank you, Mohinder," Jenny spoke when she saw him enter the loft. "It's a brilliant space to have a party in. I think. I hope."

"Oh, no, definitely," Mohinder agreed. Whilst he had never personally considered the possibilities of his lab as a place to host a party, he could not deny that the idea had been inspired. "And you've done a fantastic job with the place, too. Molly will love it, I'm sure."
