The Tale of the Wandering Doctor's Daughter
What's your favorite fairy tale? Why?

There was once upon a time, a dying race comprised of lords and ladies of Time that looked very much like me and you. They lived in harmony with most of the universe and usually never left their fair land of Gay'frey until the End of Days hit and all but two perished.

Now, while the two were friends, it is the nature of the universe that such friendships must always end. As is the nature of the universe, a balance had to be struck between good and evil. So when his true self was revealed, the King Master banished his former friend from his dominion and the Wandering Doctor was forced to travel worlds until the end of Time itself.

But this Wandering Doctor was never meant to be alone for he travelled with companions of high and low birth. Together, they brought joy and comfort to the lands. And in return, Time and Relative Dimensions in Space blessed him with a gift for his toils: a beautiful young daughter beget upon a war-torn land. She was a princess gifted with golden curls, eyes the colour of a sun-kissed lake, and a gleeful laugh that delighted the hearts of all those who heard it.

'You shall be amazing,' the Wanderer decreed of her upon her very first day of life. And so the Princess proved herself such and took the sword for her father when the evil knight attacked.

As she died lying in his arms, the Noble Enchantress that had been travelling with the Wandering Doctor felt empathy as she never had before. 'She shall not die,' the Enchantress promised. 'She will instead sleep for a hundred days and a hundred nights. And after a hundred days have passed, she will awaken from a kiss.'

And so the Noble Enchantress' prophecy came to pass. With greater sorrow in his eyes, the Wandering Doctor and his companions left the now peaceful world to continue their own tribulations. The Princess slept for a hundred days and a hundred nights. News of the Princess' conception and death reached the King Master. The idea of a young Lady of Time to do with as he wished delighted him beyond his wildest dreams. He left his kingdom to seek her out and arrived in time to give the fair maiden that faithful kiss.

On the other side the worlds, another had come to know of the legendary sleeping Princess. Former friend of the Wanderer as well, the Prince of Bo had to gaze upon this beauty for himself. He ventured to the now peaceful land to wake the Princess and return her to her father. But when he arrived, the Prince was loathe to find his beauty had been stolen away by the King who had promised her knowledge and power beyond her wildest dreams.

Young and new to the universe and its lands, the Princess had believed the Master of King's words. He had rescued her from a never ending sleep and cast his own spell upon her. From then, he had shown her things, many beautiful things, that she had never thought to explore. He had dazzled the Princess with his charm and wit and she eagerly listened to his every word, never knowing that another like her and her father existed.

The Prince of Bo refused to be defeated. During his own travels with the Princess' father, he had met this King Master and knew him to be no easy foe. Still, he departed without hesitation to the King's kingdom and announced his arrival with the flaring of trumpets: 'Surrender the fair maiden, my lord, for she does not belong to you. Her father would not want her in the hands of one such as you. The Princess is made to be a power of good, not a force of evil like you.'

At that point, she can't help it anymore. She bursts into giggles and nearly falls off her stool. The rest of the room turns to stare at her and the speaker clears his throat. It isn't the first time Jenny has heard this fairy tale and, like every other time, it's the Prince of Bo's words that trigger a reaction.

"I'm sorry," she gasps through tears, smiling awkwardly at the speaker. Jenny clamps down on her laughter and shrugs, smiling almost apologetically. "I really do love this story, really!"

She does. It's one of her favourite fairy tales and she'll listen to it at every opportunity. But some tellings Jenny finds are just so ridiculous that she can't help but laugh. It becomes more and more incorrect with every retelling and by now, she's found just about all that exist through out time and space.

But a story that ends with the Wandering Doctor telling the Face of Bo that he couldn't ever marry his daughter, for lo, he was even more of an anomaly than she doesn't make for a happy ending. And Jenny had made sure to edit out the part where Dad found her shagging Jack millenniums ago. Then, there's that whole part with the Master: completely and utterly exaggerated and the fight? Yeah right!

"Miss?"

Has she been correcting aloud again? Jenny blushes and sinks into her seat. "I so wasn't there. Honestly! I mean, that would make me old, wouldn't it?"

And so, the Prince of Bo defeated the King Master with the Wandering Doctor's aid. The Princess, now free of all spells and enchantment, was reunited with her father and an era of peace spread across all the lands. As for the Prince of Bo, he found true love and married the Princess within the fortnight.
